Osman Mensah

Osman Mensah is An M&E specialist with 16 years of experience in both quantitative and qualitative data collection. He has excellent experience in overseeing most of JMK’s field data collection; managing large household surveys; and developing and co-ordinating enumerator training, as our survey research manager. He is a senior expert specializing in research, survey design, monitoring & evaluation, planning, logframe analysis, training and project management. He has been the lead consultant in most assignment conducted by the company for organisation such as GIZ, Global Communities, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, UNOPS, Oxford Management Policy, Plan International, CARE International, etc. For example, Osman was the leader of JMK team that undertook YIDIE Project which involved artisans. He also led JMK team to conduct research and evaluation in a number of health projects. As a result, he has the relevant professional experience in the subject area of organising mobilisation campaigns, data collection, and community engagement. Osman has been a business service provider to the Business Advocacy Challenge (BUSAC) Fund where he supported business associations to advocate on issues impeding their business operations. He is therefore familiar with working with trade associations in the informal sector.


Osman has expertise and over 9 years of experience in data collection using CAPI. In addition, Osman has experience in managing and supervising staff and ensuring that team roles/responsibilities complement one another in all the studies we have conducted across the country. He has strong analytical skills due to his sociological focus and leadership roles at JMK. He has demonstrated capacity to oversee development/implementation of data collection and supervision in the targeted regions. He has excellent interpersonal, communications (written and oral), teamwork, supervisory, and mentoring skills; ability to write clear and concise technical documents; and excellent writing and communications skills in English.


Osman holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Ghana. He holds certificate in Project Monitoring and Evaluation from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. Osman has specialized expertise on formative research (qualitative and quantitative) that can support the identification and prioritization of problems, as well as project design, monitoring and evaluation. He is highly grounded in grounded in qualitative research and sectoral analysis. He has at least 10 years of senior management experience in managing complex projects.
